A strategic visionary, Kristie oversees Healthy People Wood County teams and partnerships. With more than 11 years of public health experience, Kristie has overseen well over $1 million dollars in grant funding and has instructed over 50 students, interns, AmeriCorps and fellows. Kristie participates in teams statewide and nationally and has successfully implemented strategies across Wood County to tackle health issues around mental health, drugs other substances, chronic disease, and childhood development.

Originally from Osseo, Kristie resides in Wisconsin Rapids with her husband and two children. She has a strong passion for the community and wants everyone to have a fair opportunity to be as healthy as possible. She is one-of-a-kind and we are lucky to have her!


Sarah Salewski, BBA

Sarah is a Wisconsin Rapids native and loves the Wood County community! Unlike most public health positions, Sarah brings to the team a business background! She uses this skill to effectively communicate the importance of public health in connection to economic development and the overall well-being of a community!

Sarah has worked in her position for close to four years and is energized by collaborating and is an example of a true connector and convener. She loves to be as involved as possible as she says - everything relates to health!

Sarah resides in Wisconsin Rapids with her four year old “puppy” Croix. In her free time you can find her leading the young professional group-Current, singing in her duo The Antonettes, or working on some type of home project!

Julie Cutright, MPH

Julie is new to the community from Champaign, Illinois (GO CUBS!). She started working with the team in 2018! Julie has experience working in public health departments in Illinois including creating their community health plans and assessments. Fun fact, she even has a few law school semesters under her belt!

Julie has a strong passion for social justice and women’s rights. Her outgoing personality and extensive research, make her fearless to address the tough issues and conversations around health and equity!

Julie resides in Wisconsin Rapids and looks forward to getting to know the area more! In her spare time she loves to cook (Chrissy Tiegen!), bake, read, and always has to most up-to-date list of comedians and or Netflix shows to watch! Welcome to the team Julie!


Ashley Normington
Health Promotion and Communications Specialist

A Wood County native, Ashley joined the team in June 2017 with 5½ years’ experience in alcohol and other drug prevention. After attending college at UW-Stevens Point, Ashley completed two years of AmeriCorps service with Marshfield Clinic working closely with community coalitions and teams to address local and regional substance use issues.  Upon completion of AmeriCorps, Ashley was hired as a Health Educator at Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach and was coalition coordinator for Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) before getting hired at Wood County Health Department. Ashley continues to build upon relationships formed to expand her work to Wood County as a whole!

Ashley resides in Pittsville with her husband and two children. Fun fact about Ashley, she is an avid sports fan and even played four years of college basketball for the Pointers. Her family is in the cranberry business and her husband is president of their family marsh, Saddle Mound Cranberry, located between Pittsville and Black River Falls!

David is a Two Rivers, WI native who now calls Central Wisconsin home! David has been with the team for a little over a year and is in charge of the Mental Health Matters coalition as well as aiding in the process of analyzing data for program teams and the completion of the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.

If you haven’t met him already, you’ll find David’s quirky sense of humor and love of deep conversation enables him to bring many partners to the table to talk about the number one health priority in Wood County - Mental Health!

In David’s spare time he enjoys driving around his mini-car and exploring the outdoors. Putting down roots, David recently purchased a home in Wisconsin Rapids that he shares with his wife and newborn daughter!


Ashley Arendt

Ashley has been at the Health Department for almost 5 years. After graduating from UW-Stevens Point she held an AmeriCorps service position at the Health Department working with Recreate Health to identify and label healthy menu items at restaurants and increase the amount of local and fresh produce into school lunch lines!

Ashley is a newlywed residing with her husband in Grand Rapids. A new addition to the family, Wazee, is a German Shepherd/Husky mix who you can see is almost the size of Ashley! Ashley has a strong passion for health and wellness and in her free time loves to run (MILES!) and take Wazee for walks!
