How To and Bike Rental Location Guide

History of Marshfield Community Bike Share:

The goal of the River Riders Bike Share program is to bring additional transportation and recreation options to all of Wood County. In 2021, thanks to local community sponsors, this program continues to achieve that goal by growing into the city of Marshfield. Renamed the Marshfield Community Bike Share to reflect its own community, 20 cruiser style bikes can be checked out for a rate of $1.00/hour at 4 different locations throughout Marshfield.

Bikes are available at 4 locations:

  • Wildwood Park & Zoo

  • Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA

  • Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library

  • Marshfield Fairgrounds

History of River Riders Bike Share:

River Riders Bike Share started in 2015 as a grassroots program offering community-donated bicycles for rent. After three years of success, in 2018 the program received grant funding for a more robust system that provides more bikes, better quality bikes, a tracking and accountability system database, and new types of bikes available. In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Zagster, Inc. notified their partners that they had to discontinue their bike share programs. Over the next few months, new avenues were explored to bring back the successful rural program to offer innovative transportation and recreation options once again to the community. In partnership with Koloni, Inc., River Riders Bike Share returned for the 2021 season! 30 cruiser style bikes are available at 6 locations throughout Wisconsin Rapids. 3 accessible bikes are available - 2 tandem side-by-side bikes and 1 tricycle. Bikes can be checked out for a rate of $1.00/hour. Bikes are available at six locations:

  • Quality Foods West Grand Avenue

  • West Grand Avenue Bridge

  • McMillan Memorial Library

  • South Wood County White Sands Beach

  • Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo

  • Henry Demitz Park
